Our theme for this months’ newsletter is ‘do something different’. – whatever it is, shake things up and approach life in a slightly different way. This lockdown doesn’t appear to have a clear end in sight at the moment and most of us are stuck in our somewhat monotonous routines. To overcome this, we at Attic have decided to try to do something different each day. Today we had Sebastien the goat join us from Cronkshaw Fold Farm for our team meeting over Zoom – he wasn’t a huge conversationalist and preferred to be called Seb as it was more managerial but it was different and made us all laugh!
I’ve been trying different walking routes from my house in North London and yesterday afternoon my son and I managed to get stuck knee deep in mud as we got rather lost – that was certainly different, especially when the wellies remained stuck and the child was freed. Keeping on the walking theme, I told Sarah to try a different walk the other day – I didn’t actually mean walk in a different way like Monty Python’s Ministry of Silly Walks, I meant go a different route but the mere thought of picturing her walking like John Cleese made me laugh for the rest of the afternoon.
So, try it today (click on the picture below to watch the clip for a moment of light-heartedness) – embrace something different, no matter how small and take pleasure in the difference.
Thank you to Cronkshaw Fold Farm for letting Seb the Goat join our weekly meeting!
For the next two months we are offering an incentive scheme to all our candidates who would like to introduce us to a new client with an open permanent vacancy. Obviously this is a really quiet time for recruitment so we thought by offering a mutually advantageous incentive, we might get some nice new roles on our books and in turn be making more phone calls to you, our brilliant candidates! So if you know any individual, any company, any business or organisation who is hiring at the moment either on the office side or private household side, we would love to hear from you. Should we place an Attic candidate in a permanent capacity with that company, we will reward you with a £250 Selfridges or Liberty voucher of your choice. You may know of a role through your partner’s brother’s wife or there could be a new position at your current company or you may have heard about an interesting role on the grapevine, which isn’t quite right for you but would benefit from some expert recruiting 😊, we would love to hear from you please contact Sarah or Kirsty. For any temp booking referrals we will send you £25 Amazon vouchers.
Sarah has practised yoga for many years and has tried lots of different studios but her favourite by far is a new studio called ‘state yoga’ based in Highgate village. The studio itself is gorgeous light and airy, modern and staffed by extremely knowledgeable and lovely instructors. Currently they are teaching their whole schedule online via zoom and we are delighted to offer all our Attic candidates a free class with one of their brilliant teachers. Whether you are an experienced Yogi or not there will be a class to suit you. Yin yoga is especially comforting and restorative during this tough time where we all need a bit of help with body and mind. Or maybe try the State signature class which gives you a good work out at your own pace. Anyway have a look on their website and book in with your free class code and let us know how you get on!
