Working From Home – Attic Style

Attic HQ in Oxford Circus is currently shut- we have all set up remotely and our amazing Office Manager, Flo is acting as the main receptionist, managing all your calls and enquires from her house, the Old Post Office near Oxford.

Everyone is in the same boat and we need to keep morals up high during these very scary and strange times.

Day 1 was a bit of novelty learning to work from home.

Day 2 we were in our groove.

Day 3 into lock down, Cabin Fever is well and truly starting to kick in. Claire’s need for a proper cup of coffee is getting desperate as she is finding herself gazing longingly at people through her window who have bought themselves a frothy oat milk latte from the last open coffee shop and Bobby has started to chase his tail around the garden…. Deep breath everyone…

During these times, it’s important to remain positive and try to remain happy or at least content. We must stick together and keep connected (2 metres apart though).

At Attic we are so used to being in a noisy environment, this silence of working from home is all starting to get to us a little….apart from for Kirsty, Sarah and Margherita whose houses with kids and animals running riot are never quiet.

We are continuing to interview candidates via Facetime and keeping in touch with clients and trying to keep business as normal as possible.

We are all really enjoying talking to people outside of our immediate family and finding out what you are doing to cope during these times. Something we have all worked out is that our partners / flat mates make terrible cups of tea, we really have got this skill down to a tee at Attic (excuse the pun).

We are having team meetings using Zoom, and office drinks tomorrow round our separate kitchen tables. And let’s admit it… we are all trying to find out more information about our colleagues from the pictures they have on the wall or the type of mugs they are using.

Daisy has been taking huge pride in her lunches, making baked potatoes with lots of yummy toppings, or reheating last night’s chicken pie, it’s much better than a pret sarnie isn’t it?

These times are hard, and we will be doing everything we can to ensure our candidates and clients are being looked after as much as possible. We need as much communication from you and for you to let us know what is going on your end. Please do not hesitate to contact us anytime – we are all available for a chinwag and will happily offer some advice through these times.

We are super excited to be launching a weekly newsletter very soon to keep you updated with the top jobs, recipes, yoga poses and much more so watch this space…

Please stay safe and sane.

Love the Attic Team

I have a huge amount of confidence in the team at Attic – they have taken a lot of time and trouble to understand the culture and nuances of our business and it shows. I will keep asking them to support us because I know they will deliver a great result – quickly and with style.
